Many students in SB have been shut out from their education due to inadequate access to the internet or lack of proper learning environments to attend online classes.  Imagine arriving at a class and finding the door locked?  Imagine not receiving an education for months at a time.  We heard about the efforts of Just Communities to step up and organize learning pods for students outside at places such as Elings Park.  We think that's amazing.  We were able to raise some funds for them and urge you to find out more and help by donating to us or directly to Just Communities. 

Just Communities offers cultural competency training to organizational leaders, education seminars for the general public, leadership training institutes for students and teachers, and customized consultation to local agencies for diversity and organizational change initiatives. Just Communities consciously works with people from a diverse cross-section of the community along the lines of race, income, gender, sexual orientation, age, and religious affiliation.

 PATH provides a variety of services for our neighbors experiencing homelessness and addiction that include counseling, employment, outreach, housing navigation, interim housing, and rapid rehousing.  We are grateful to PATH for giving us the opportunity to volunteer and help since the beginning of Covid.  Every week we help with preparing and serving about 100.
